Baseball Game Preview: Westminster Academy Lions vs. Palm Beach Gardens Gators

The Westminster Academy Lions will take on the Palm Beach Gardens Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Palm Beach Gardens will be up against a hot Westminster Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Westminster Academy blew past Sports Leadership & Management 7-1 on Tuesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.

Westminster Academy got a great performance from Juan Sarmiento as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Sarmiento has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calvin Martin was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jesus Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Gardens lost 10-3 to Forest Hill on Tuesday. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palm Beach Gardens saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Valencia, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Palm Beach Gardens now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Westminster Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
