Basketball Recap: Throckmorton Comes Up Short

Throckmorton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Garner Longhorns, falling 61-18.

Garner got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Payton Arms out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Juluis Crews, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Throckmorton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Garner, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Throckmorton will venture away from home to face off against Perrin-Whitt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perrin-Whitt will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Throckmorton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Garner, they will square off against Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
