Volleyball Game Preview: Evanston Wildkits vs. Maine South Hawks + How To Watch

Evanston is 1-9 against Maine South since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wildkits will host the Hawks at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Evanston came up short against Glenbrook North and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-11.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Maine South sidestepped Deerfield for a 2-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Maine South who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.

Evanston better focus on containing Teagan Heneghan and Chloe Keuter as the pair were huge in Maine South's win. Heneghan had eight digs and two aces, while Keuter had nine digs and one assist. That's the most digs Keuter has posted since back in August.

Maine South was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matchups.

Maine South's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Evanston, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-19.
