Volleyball Recap: Salem Wins Going Away Against Orange

Salem had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Orange on Thursday. The Quakers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Salem never let Orange on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 27-25, 25-21.

Abigail Knickerbocker paced Salem's offense, picking up 13 kills. Knickerbocker got some help from Macey Troy and her 21 assists. Troy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Salem's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15. As for Orange, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Salem didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Edgewood on the 20th. Orange does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
