Basketball Recap: Booker Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Booker won the last time they faced Venice and things went their way on Friday too. The Booker Tornadoes walked away with a 55-45 win over the Venice Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Booker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Perets, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of J.P Lattimore, who earned 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Venice lost, don't look at Marcel Fil. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The contest was Fil's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zeke Settles, who put up nine points and three steals.

Booker's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Venice, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-2.

Booker will welcome Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview Sarasota knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Booker likes a good challenge. As for Venice, they will take on Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Port Charlotte's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
