Volleyball Recap: Franklin Yellowjackets vs. Weston Ranch Cougars
Franklin extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 8-17. They came up short against the Weston Ranch Cougars, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Carmen Walker paced Franklin's offense, picking up six kills. Walker got some help from Lexie Shobert and her ten assists. Finally, Walker was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high eight blocks.
As for Weston Ranch, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-11 record. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 10th (when they won 3-0).
Weston Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daisy Toledo out in front who had 21 digs and one assist. Toledo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. Alaina Escobedo was another key player, getting 26 assists and four digs.
Franklin has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Bear Creek on the 15th. As for Weston Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Edison on the 15th.
