Volleyball Recap: Penn Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Penn won the last time they faced Valparaiso and things went their way on Saturday too. The Kingsmen came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 2-0.

Penn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla Hurley, who had 13 digs. That's the most digs Hurley has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carson Petty, who had 18 assists and three digs.

Despite the loss, Valparaiso still got an impressive performance from Sophia Carlson, who had nine digs and one assist. That assist marked the first that Carlson has posted this season.

Penn is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Valparaiso, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Penn will take on South Bend Riley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valparaiso, they will head out on the road to take on Chesterton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
