Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mcnairy Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity Christian Academy). They had just enough and edged out the McNairy Central Bobcats 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.

Thomas Thornton looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zane Atwood was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landan Smyth, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Trinity Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for McNairy Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Coincidentally, Trinity Christian Academy and McNairy Central will both be playing Halls the next time they take the field. Trinity Christian Academy will head out to face Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while McNairy Central will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
