Baseball Game Preview: Bastrop Bears vs. Cedar Creek Eagles

The Bastrop Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Cedar Creek Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Bastrop has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Bastrop needed a bit of extra time to put away Cedar Creek. They skirted past the Eagles 6-5. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one run.

Francisco Arriaga made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Arriaga was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Arriaga wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Val Regalado, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Regalado hit this season.

Bastrop's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Cedar Creek, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
