Shafter put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Dos Palos Broncos. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Broncos are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christopher Espinoza was a one-man wrecking crew for Shafter as he rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Mariyon Sloan was another key player, rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.
