Basketball Recap: Henry Clay Takes a Loss

Henry Clay has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sayre Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since December 7, 2024.

Henry Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Sayre, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-10.

Henry Clay has already played their next game, a 91-57 win against Paul Laurence Dunbar on the 18th. As for Sayre, they will face off against Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Holmes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Sayre likes a good challenge.
