Baseball Game Preview: Maplesville Red Devils vs. Chilton County Tigers

Maplesville is 0-3 against Chilton County since March of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Maplesville Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Chilton County Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Maplesville is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thorsby. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly five runs.

Maplesville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Abbott, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Abbott has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Chilton County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Ariton 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Brody Pierce was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pierce was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other pitching news, Zander Mims tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Chilton County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Maplesville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Maplesville suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Chilton County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Maplesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
