Volleyball Recap: Atlanta Comes Up Short

Atlanta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Marshall Mavericks. If the Rabbits were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Marshall scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21.

Atlanta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Marshall, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlanta will host Hughes Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will square off against Tyler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
