Football Recap: Lowell Red Devils vs. Hobart Brickies
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lowell can now relate to. They came up short against the Hobart Brickies on Friday, falling 35-15. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Brickies earlier this season, when they won 20-17.
Although Lowell took the loss, they still got scores from Tymothy James and Zak M Scharnke.
Aleks Tatum had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 153 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 68 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes for Hobart. Those 153 rushing yards gave Tatum a new career-high. Max Pickett also helped out as he racked up 134 rushing yards.
Lowell's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Hobart, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Lowell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hobart, they will challenge South Bend Saint Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' defense has only allowed 8.6 points per game this season, so the Brickies' offense will have their work cut out for them.
