Soccer Recap: Cyprus Comes Up Short

Cyprus had taken Granger down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lancers who were credited with the victory. The Granger Lancers got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Cyprus Pirates' four. Cyprus were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Granger apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Cyprus' loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Granger, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cyprus will face off against Taylorsville at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cyprus are facing Taylorsville at the right time seeing as Taylorsville are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Granger, they will take on Kearns at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
