Football Game Preview: New Fairfield Rebels vs. Lewis Mills Spartans

The New Fairfield Rebels are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Lewis Mills Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

New Fairfield's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Weston 31-0. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

New Fairfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anthony Delcampo and Anthony Debartolomeo.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lewis Mills, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 42-6 win over RHAM. The Spartans pushed the score to 35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raptors had little chance of recovering from.

Lewis Mills' win came from a few key players New Fairfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayce McDonald, who threw for 184 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Mason Scanlon handled things on the ground, rushing for 109 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The victory got Lewis Mills back to even at 1-1. As for New Fairfield, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
