Soccer Game Preview: Osbourn Park vs. Gar-Field

The Osbourn Park Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to take on the Gar-Field Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Osbourn Park's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Osbourn Park's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Gainesville 1-0. That's two games straight that Osbourn Park have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Gar-Field unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell just short of Forest Park by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Gar-Field came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Forest Park are ranked 57th).

Osbourn Park now has a winning record of 8-7-2. As for Gar-Field, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2-2.

Osbourn Park skirted past Gar-Field 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Red Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
