Belchertown waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Agawam Brownies by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 two weeks ago.

Josh Misiaszek made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ian McDonald was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Belchertown pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Agawam, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Belchertown and Agawam should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Orioles (ranked 103rd) will meet Chicopee (ranked 299th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Agawam will square off against Southwick Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (115 vs. 235).
