Basketball Recap: Woodlawn-B.R. Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against John Curtis Christian, Woodlawn-B.R. was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Edna Karr Cougars 47-44. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered an 81-24 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Edna Karr saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cass Antoine posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jalyn Recasnner, who put up nine points.

Woodlawn-B.R.'s win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Edna Karr, with the defeat, they broke their 15-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-1.

Woodlawn-B.R. will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on University Lab at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025. As for Edna Karr, they will venture away from home to take on Carencro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
