Paradise's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Brown, who rushed for 111 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Brown has posted since back in October of 2024. Another passer making a difference was Ayden Olalde, who threw for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Paradise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boyd only rushed for 103.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Breckenridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their defense stepped up to hand San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy a 43-0 shutout on Friday. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Buckaroos this season.
Breckenridge's win came from a few key players Paradise will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Douglas White, who threw for 152 yards and two TDs on only 12 passes. Breckenridge's leading receiver Ryan Waller was White's top target yet again, picking up 122 receiving yards and one score.
One reason for the win was Breckenridge's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Glen Thibodeaux refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Breckenridge received some extra help from Hunter Davis, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Paradise's record is now 9-1. As for Breckenridge, their record now sits at 4-6.
Everything came up roses for Paradise against Breckenridge when the teams last played back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 47-7 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Buckaroos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
