Volleyball Recap: Carolina Christian Takes a Loss

Carolina Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the HOPE Academy Royals, falling 3-0. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Royals when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-7, 25-12.

HOPE Academy was led to victory by Ava Hong and Hadlie Drummond. Hong had nine aces, while Drummond had seven aces. Those nine aces gave Hong a new career-high.

Carolina Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for HOPE Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carolina Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Grace Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, HOPE Academy will take on rival Lee Park Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
