Softball Game Preview: Riverdale Rams vs. Rockridge Rockets

Riverdale has won seven straight games at home, while Rockridge has won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Rams will host the Rockets at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Riverdale beats Rockridge with 15 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Everything went the Rams' way against Mendota on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-5 win.

The team relied heavily on Katie Cox, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Rockridge got the win against Alleman on Friday by a conclusive 14-4. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won six in a row.

Riverdale is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Rockridge, their victory bumped their record up to 22-3.
