Softball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 12-11. They came up short against the Knoxville Central Bobcats, falling 10-2. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Carter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Dyer, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Knoxville Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-18 record. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 8-0).

On Knoxville Central's side, Player #7 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Player #7 has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Knoxville Central let Leah Collins and Brylee Gibson run wild. Collins went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Gibson went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four hits gave Collins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Player #42, who went 1-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Carter nor Knoxville Central have any future games scheduled.
