Basketball Recap: Whitko Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Whitko entered their tilt with Rochester on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 49-35 victory over the Rochester Zebras. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Reese Stonebraker was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 13 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds. Anna Allebach was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Whitko smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Rochester lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brailyn Hunter, who posted five points and six rebounds. What's more, Hunter also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Field, who had seven points and six boards.

Whitko is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Rochester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Whitko Wildcats face off against the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rochester, they will challenge Logansport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
