Basketball Game Preview: Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears vs. Lumberton Raiders

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears will venture away from home to take on the Lumberton Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Cypress-Mauriceville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Little Cypress-Mauriceville ended up a good deal behind Vidor and lost 54-37. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 789th, while the Pirates are ranked 288th).

Meanwhile, Lumberton came up short against Bridge City on Tuesday, falling 68-47. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-18. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 14-17.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville strolled past Lumberton in their previous matchup on January 7th by a score of 44-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Little Cypress-Mauriceville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
