Softball Game Preview: Bellport Clippers vs. West Babylon Eagles

Bellport is 2-7 against West Babylon since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clippers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:15 p.m. Neither Bellport nor West Babylon posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bellport lost 8-1 to East Islip on Wednesday. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Barry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was Barry's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when West Babylon duked it out with Deer Park on Wednesday. The Eagles took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Autumn Romano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

Bellport's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for West Babylon, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
