Softball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Middletown can now relate to. They lost 6-0 to the Corning-Painted Post Hawks on Thursday.

Bethannie French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Corning-Painted Post, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Middletown nor Corning-Painted Post have any future games scheduled.
