Baseball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. Crestview Cougars

Mapleton hasn't had much luck against Crestview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mounties will host the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Mapleton has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mapleton's offense. They came up short against Monroeville on Tuesday, falling 12-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Western Reserve hit Crestview with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roughriders. Mapleton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Crestview, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
