League recap: Chiles gets lift from Elsbernd's big bat

7A District 1 league recap: 3/20/13

Tanner Elsbernd was on fire this week, as he led 7A District 1 with a .500 average, two home runs and eight RBIs. Chiles compiled a record of 3-1 in that time.

Forest's Blake Waldren was the best pitcher in the league this week. Over the past week, he racked up one win and six strikeouts.

Although the 47 runs scored by Buchholz topped the league, the Timberwolves maintained their lead in the league with 90 runs this season.

Ten batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Ben Ellzey, who hit .538 by going 7-for-13.



Sean Kamhoot drove in five runners on Friday in the Bobcats' 23-0 victory over Gainesville. He went 4-for-5 and scored two runs.
