Basketball Recap: Franklin Sabers vs. Kenosha Tremper Trojans

The Franklin Sabers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Kenosha Tremper. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Franklin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Meaux out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Meaux has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Capstran, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Franklin pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Kenosha Tremper, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on the Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kenosha Tremper, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Racine Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Trojans are ranked 123rd).
