Basketball Recap: Pine Tree Academy Takes a Loss

Pine Tree Academy was the 38-36 winner over Islesboro Central when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pine Tree Academy Breakers fell 40-27 to the Islesboro Central Eagles on Friday. The Breakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pine Tree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Islesboro Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Tree Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Islesboro Central, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Richmond at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
