Basketball Game Preview: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Streetsboro Rockets

The Cloverleaf Colts are taking a road trip to take on the Streetsboro Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cloverleaf will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Woodridge, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Cloverleaf walked away with a 38-30 victory over Woodridge on Tuesday. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cloverleaf got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Hibler out in front who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Kinsey Bayer was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Streetsboro came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 victory over the Falcons.

Cloverleaf has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Streetsboro, their record is now 16-3.

Cloverleaf came up short against Streetsboro in their previous matchup back in January, falling 61-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Streetsboro's Naomi Benson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds. Now that Cloverleaf knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
