Baseball Recap: Vista del Lago Eagles vs. El Capitan Gauchos
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vista del Lago had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the El Capitan Gauchos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Vista del Lago got a great performance from Jacoby Jones as he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Jones has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bolyard, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Vista del Lago's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for El Capitan, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-10-1.
