Basketball Recap: Fannett Metal Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Fannett Metal's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down the Hancock Panthers 82-64. The win was all the more spectacular given Fannett Metal's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 642nd in Pennsylvania, while Hancock is ranked 281st in Maryland).

Hancock lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Hill, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. That's the most points Hill has posted since back in February of 2024. Tucker Welch was another key player, putting up 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Fannett Metal's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Hancock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Fannett Metal will venture away from home to square off against Belleville Mennonite at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hancock, they will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
