Soccer Preview: Sequoyah vs. Blessed Trinity
The Sequoyah Chiefs will venture away from home to face off against the Blessed Trinity Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sequoyah will be strutting in after a win while Blessed Trinity will be coming in after a loss.
Sequoyah barely beat Forsyth Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Sequoyah never let Forsyth Central get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Chiefs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Aidan Ellis and Armando Barranca scored all three of Sequoyah's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.
Meanwhile, Blessed Trinity fell victim to St. Pius X Catholic and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Golden Lions by a score of 1-0. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blessed Trinity now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Sequoyah, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Sequoyah might still be hurting after the 6-3 defeat they got from Blessed Trinity when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Sequoyah avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
