Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mansfield walked away with it. They walked away with a 45-32 win over the Ville Platte Bulldogs on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Despite the loss, Ville Platte saw an underclassman step up: freshman Bri'Telah Freeman posted 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Freeman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Mansfield's victory bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Ville Platte, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-9.

Looking ahead, Mansfield will head out to face off against Oakdale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakdale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Mansfield likes a good challenge. Ville Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
