Football Game Preview: Hiram Hornets vs. Cedartown Bulldogs + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Dylan Maina and Jakobe Dorsey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hiram Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Cedartown Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hiram will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Hiram is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 48-34 win over Dalton on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Catamounts: they've now won three in a row.

Hiram got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amari Lindley out in front who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Lindley has posted since back in August of 2024. Sean Shead also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hiram was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 78.7 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 204.3.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hiram's defensive line and their five sacks. James Marshall was especially locked on to Dalton's QB and sacked him twice. Jemarcus Twine got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cedartown took a blow against Cass last Friday, falling 44-17. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Colonels are ranked 75th).

This is the second loss in a row for Cedartown and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Hiram, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-4.

Hiram took a serious blow against Cedartown in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 56-20. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hornets were down 35-13.
