Basketball Recap: Norwood Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Norwood can now relate to. They lost 77-55 to the Doherty Memorial Highlanders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 18th).

The defeat snapped Norwood's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-6 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Doherty Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
