Preview: Mount de Sales Academy Sailors vs. Bryn Mawr Mawrtians
Mount de Sales Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Bryn Mawr Mawrtians at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mount de Sales Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Mount de Sales Academy didn't have too much trouble with St. Paul's Girls at home as they won 45-31.
Shelby Lewis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ella Powers, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Bryn Mawr was the victim of a rough 60-40 loss at the hands of Gerstell Academy on Tuesday. Bryn Mawr has not had much luck with Gerstell Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mount de Sales Academy pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Bryn Mawr, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Mount de Sales Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Bryn Mawr in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 45-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount de Sales Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
