Basketball Recap: Sedro-Woolley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oak Harbor last Friday, Sedro-Woolley came back down to earth. The Sedro-Woolley Cubs were beaten by the Stanwood Spartans 78-22 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Spartans are ranked 42nd).

Sedro-Woolley dropped their record down to 6-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Stanwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sedro-Woolley will take on Mariner at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Stanwood, they will head out on the road to square off against Archbishop Murphy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Archbishop Murphy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
