Softball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Gets the Win

Rancho Bernardo won the last time they faced La Costa Canyon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Broncos came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 5-2.

Charlotte Savarese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ellery Housand, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Asiyah Ali, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rancho Bernardo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Rancho Bernardo's record is now 5-2. As for La Costa Canyon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
