Soccer Game Preview: Cocoa Beach vs. Rockledge

The Cocoa Beach Minutemen will challenge the Rockledge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cocoa Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Cocoa Beach's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bayside with a sharp 5-0 win. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Bears are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cocoa Beach hit Bayside with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Max Perez (2), Aiden Bartlett, Malachi Hensley, and Jadyn Senger.

Meanwhile, Rockledge came up short against Melbourne on Tuesday and fell 4-2.

Cocoa Beach's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Rockledge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Cocoa Beach beat Rockledge by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 1-0. Will Cocoa Beach repeat their success, or does Rockledge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
