Makayla Watkins leads a balanced attack to beat Kalkaska

Recap: Grayling Vikings vs. Kalkaska Blazers

The Grayling Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Kalkaska 69-49. The victory was just what Grayling needed coming off of a 51-31 defeat in their prior match.

Grayling got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Makayla Watkins out in front who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 steals. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Cali D'Amour was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.

Grayling is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Kalkaska, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

Grayling will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kalkaska, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harbor Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kalkaska in Michigan (Harbor Springs is ranked 112th, while Kalkaska is ranked 575th).
