Volleyball Recap: Manawa Comes Up Short

Manawa suffered their biggest loss since October 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-21.

Manawa's offense was headlined by Alayna Seeger and Abby Elmhorst, who picked up four kills apiece. Elmhorst really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. Adelyn Schertz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Manawa's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Manawa will face off against Spencer at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they will square off against Gibraltar at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
