Baseball Recap: Haines City Comes Up Short

Haines City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lake Gibson Braves, falling 20-2. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Braves when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Haines City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadiel Rivera, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Rivera also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Haines City's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lake Gibson, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Haines City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-2 defeat against Frostproof on the 24th. As for Lake Gibson, they will welcome Victory Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
