Volleyball Recap: Park Hill South Falls Short Against Ranked Nixa

Park Hill South faced Nixa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Their offense was headlined by Sydni Lafasciano and Ellie Gibbs, who picked up five kills apiece. Gibbs really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. Finally, Lafasciano was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Park Hill South's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Nixa, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Park Hill South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lutheran on the 11th. As for Nixa, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against St. Francis Borgia on the 11th.
