Basketball Recap: South Hamilton Takes a Loss

South Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs 59-27. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Mustangs are ranked 69th).

South Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the South Hamilton Hawks duke it out with the Perry Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prairie City-Monroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roland-Story at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Prairie City-Monroe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
