Volleyball Recap: Harrison Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

While Harrison's win against North Putnam wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Cougars on Saturday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Harrison had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 15-10.

Cole Hess paced Harrison's offense, picking up ten kills. Hess got some help from Ian McKinney and his 24 assists. Hess was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

North Putnam's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Ali, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Harrison pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Putnam, they moved to 4-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Harrison will head out on the road to face off against Traders Point Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Putnam, they will venture away from home to square off against Monrovia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
