Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Blountstown's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

If Wewahitchka wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Blountstown, they should've done a better job of containing Cyianna Smith. The Blountstown Tigers claimed a resounding 60-17 victory over the Wewahitchka Gators thanks in part to Smith, who went 16 for 21 on her way to 34 points and seven steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Blountstown's points.

Jill Davis was another key player, putting up six points and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Blountstown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points per game. As for Wewahitchka, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coincidentally, Blountstown and Wewahitchka will both be playing Port St. Joe the next time they take the court. Blountstown will host Port St. Joe at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Wewahitchka will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
