Volleyball Recap: Madison Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Madison Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Muscle Shoals Trojans. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Madison Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 15-12.

Janelle Lowery paced Madison Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Lowery got some help from Sarah Bacon and her ten assists. Bacon also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kenzie Privett, each putting up two.

Madison Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-15. As for Muscle Shoals, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 17-17.

Looking ahead, Madison Academy will host Westminster Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Muscle Shoals does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
